iDrive for 2009 BMW M3, M5 and M6

BMW iDriveFor all 2009 BMW M3, M5 and M6 from autumn 2008, the new generation iDRIVE will be available. Standard on all M5 and M6 variants, iDRIVE control system comes with the M3, in conjunction with an optional navigation system [...]

The system uses a new controller wheel surrounded by preference keys on the centre console surface. With the optional Professional navigation system you get 8.8-inch display with a four times greater resolution (1280 x 480 pixels) to display high-resolution graphics and a new menu structure.

The navigation datas are stored on a 80 GB hard drive, however, the drive can also be used to store files ripped from a CD, an MP3 player or an external USB drive and transferred to the hard disk, after which music files are accessible at all times.

Also starting for the model year 2009, the range of accessories includes a new snap-in adapter for the full integration of the latest smartphones, including Apple iPhone, into the vehicle and an optional USB board will be available.
